We are home to our Resident Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and our Associate Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and in contemporary music, we have forged a special relationship with our Associate Producers, Serious.
In classical music, we are proud to welcome world-famous artists including Cecilia Bartoli, Simon Rattle, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Evgeny Kissin, Maxim Vengerov, Alfred Brendel, Bernard Haitink, Renée Fleming, Andreas Scholl, Midori, Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, Yo-Yo Ma and many more.
Barbican contemporary music features the world's hottest artists in jazz, folk, world, roots, soul, country,contemporary classical and the more experimental ends of rock, pop and electronica.
Curating special crossover projects we continue to curate important concert series such as a the 1000 Year Journey (Gypsy music), Dance Nations (dance music from around the world), Ramadan Nights (music from Muslim cultures), Groove Nations (global funk & soul) and our Transcender Weekender, which celebrated all kinds of devotional, spiritual and sacred musics.
